Parallelflanschkanal wird normalerweise als Kanal oder "C-Profil" bezeichnet. Sie werden durch ihre Tiefe, Breite und Gewicht pro Meter in Kilogramm beschrieben, z. 150 x 75 x 18 PFC. Der PFC wird für Säulen, Stürze über Türen oder einfach als Balkenträger für Deckenbalken verwendet. Beim Einsatz für Stürze wird eine Bodenplatte angeschweißt, die die Außensteine aufnimmt oder 2 Rinnen werden Rücken an Rücken mit 100 mm Abstandshaltern verschraubt, um beide Flügel einer Hohlwand zu stützen.
